A Walmart Market Place Seller had these 12V 21A Power Supply Units On Clarence last week for for $9.65 why not give it a shot for PSU for the Ham Radio.
Shipped form USA Via DHL/USPS It Arrived in about 5 days, No Box just stuffed in a Plastic Bag! But it Powered up! The power Suppl Seems to be nice build Quality they even Use what look like Genuine Rubycon Capacitors. Yes the cover is written in Chinese!
The Trimmer Pot for adjusting the Output voltage is rather cheap and very very sensitive. The fan can use a filter so much noise from it on the output. I was shooting for 13.8V but no go skip’s right past it or will under/overvolt was able to get it to hold 14v. I will install a new 200ohm trimmer pot at a later date. When I replace the Trim Pot will get some photos of the board.
With it hooked to the Radio it can pull a load but the fan must be disconnected or it will shut down the radio due to noise. Over all for Nine Dollars Shipped not a bad little PSU. Watch for it to go on-sale again!
