I was Hopeful looked Promising.<\/p>\n<p>Over the last weekend, I finally tackled a long-postponed project: backing up the firmware of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stevenrhine.com\/?p=61168\">Hakko FM-203 Soldering Station<\/a>. I\u2019d been putting it off because the Renesas R5F21258SNFP microcontroller (MCU) used in these devices are typically secured with read protection, and In System Programming\/Reading accessing requires an In-System Programming (ISP) ID code. I had\u00a0 to get creative as I did not want to invest a lot cash\u00a0 in to this on sockets and adapters. Despite the challenges, the backup was a success.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Hakko FM-203 Firmware Backup and ID Code Recovery Attempt #righttorepair\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/F3vQnaCocdQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2>Email to Hakko<\/h2>\n<p>Early Monday morning, December 2nd, I emailed Hakko via their web form with the following message:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hakko.com\/english\/products\/hakko_fm203.html\">Hakko FM-203<\/a> Soldering Station Firmware V2.0 Backup and ISP Code Recovery was a Success. No Longer Proprietary and Confidential It Has Been Published.
