Goodbye Hakko 850D Hot Air Rework Station “SMD Tractor”<\/h3>\n

In August Pulled the trigger and I have Replaced The Hakko 850D<\/a> Hot Air Rework Station “SMD Tractor”\u00a0 With an Atten ST-862D<\/a> While I Await the Quick TR1300A<\/a> and the Quick TR1100<\/a>
\n\"\"<\/a>\u00a0 \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

This Hakko 850D Hot Air Rework Station I have owned for About 2 Decades. I Called the 850D the “SMD Tractor” For the Noise the Diaphragm Pump Makes while Running.\u00a0 Recently, I looked at the modern Hakko Rework Station offerings.\u00a0 What Hakko was offering was not appealing to me. Their FR-810B<\/a> is not user friendly, poor functional styling (Not Stackable) & still using old technology such as using segmented displays.<\/p>\n

I researched by looking at some teardowns, user reviews, and actually using a slightly older FR-810. Hakko seems like they are still not up to the speed of the competition and behind the times. A person can get Quick, Atten, Best, Etc. with better features for quarter to half the cost of Modern Hakko FR-810B.<\/p>\n

These competitors have been around for a few years now and have better display (Hakko is still using low cost segmented display in 2021), more power and airflow, hassle free heads down (don’t have to look) temp and air flow changes.<\/p>\n

Regardless I am Impressed with the Atten ST-862D I cannot wait to try out the Quick TR1300A when it arrives 08\/19 tracking received ETA??? Said 5-10 days. I Will make another post comparing them.<\/p>\n

I am well aware I probably will not get anywhere close to 20 years form Quick, Atten, Best, Etc. and from seeing the modern Hakko offerings they prob will not last 20+ years either!<\/p>\n

To Conclude my Hakko 850D was Preforming Great for most my Surface Mount Needs. In almost 20 years very little maintenance was required on the 850D a few years ago the heating element was done.\u00a0 Do I still Recommend Hakko Equipment? That answer is Yes! Just Look at the Specifications Such as the FX-951 will not Accept Tweezers or the FM-2024.<\/p>\n
