Here is a Mazda RX7 CPU 2 F110 Repair. These may be Marked F101 F100 F110 F113 In for repair it’s been about 2 or 3 years since one of these has been in the shop for service figured I should blog about it.

Both Boards

These all Suffer from corrosion from bad leaking capacitors and relay contacts get carbon buildup.
You can see the electrolytic leakage on the FR-2 Pertinax PCB sub-strait.

Bottom Side of the PCB Corrosion of the Copper Traces. This is moderate damage salvageable.

Here are Some X-rays of the PCB’s this will help gauge the extent of the corrosion. How much work will be required.

Full Board would not fit the sensor

Flasher Baord

I will Get this on the bench I need to remove all caps for replacement, remove all corroded components clean leads and test any that need replaced will be added to the list of parts it is sometimes less costly to replace the the time spent cleaning.
This one is done, the only part I could not source was an appropriate length replacement Bi-Polar/Non-Polar 22uf 16V 105C Capacitor less than 10mm in length so I had to install a 11mm length one on it’s side which is acceptable. All Parts removed will be returned to customer unless requested not to so.

The Corrosion on this was was moderate couple trace repairs and corrosion removal and reinforcing the trace’s and protecting the copper of the affected areas via tinning.
Replaced a few resistors around C7 with new due to the legs being corroded one was completely eaten thru.
Note: I mostly will deal with dealers and independent repair shops when it comes to items like this but I will take these in from private party on a case by case basis. I know that a lot of repair shops refuse to work on older vehicles so just contact me and we can discuss it. I repair circuit boards not cars so I cannot help you with diagnostics of your vehicle.
